Jedidiah Ambassador, Greg Spencer From The Paradigm Project

Posted on Wednesday at 7:23

Meet our ambassador, Greg Spencer, the co-founder of The Paradigm Project. We believe in his mission to change 25 million lives by providing 5 million stoves in developing countries. Starting next Tuesday, Greg will launch a series called Stoveman, which will feature episodes that spread the word about The Paradigm Project’s mission. Below is the Stoveman trailer and we will keep you updated with each episode as well as Greg and The Paradigm Project.

About Greg:

I’m 26 years old and grew up in a small ski town in Utah called Park City. I grew up playing in the mountains of Utah and playing basketball. This brought me to PLNU where I continued to play basketball and ski, and occasionally study business if I wasn’t staring at and enjoying the ocean. It wasn’t until 2008 that I felt my life’s passion and work was sparked. I went to Uganda with the president of Food for the Hungry, Ben Homan, and my father, J Greg Spencer. It was on a misty mountaintop in eastern Uganda, receiving a chicken as a welcome present out of complete poverty from my sponsored child, when I knew I wanted my life to be about using my skills, both business and other, to impact the lives of the needy in the developing world. In 2009, I co-founded The Paradigm Project with a group of talented, excellent men who wanted to use “Paradigm” as a vehicle for connecting commercial markets in the western world with needy people in rural Africa and in a way that made drastic impact on people and environment. We decided to make Paradigm a for-profit enterprise that believes “Profits with Purpose” can end poverty in this world, one community at a time. Currently I manage the PR, marketing, media and social media for Paradigm.

I started filming Stoveman, a web series that takes Bear Grylls and mixes it with dirty jobs and a cause to impact the poor, in November of 2010 with Austin Mann as a way to promote, educate and entertain people around Paradigm’s work with clean burning cookstoves. The best part about making this series is simply sharing life—funny, hard, joyful, exhausting, heart-breaking and amazing moments and experiences with the communities we serve and the wonderful people within them.

Ultimately, I want to glorify God with my life and use what He has given me to bless people.

The shirts will be sold exclusively in our online store and in select Buckle retailers. We appreciate Buckle’s partnership with the Heartland T-Shirts and their enthusiasm to help the American Red Cross. We value your help in raising money for those who are hurting from this disaster.

Our Designer, Kelli Larson, Shares Design Inspiration

Posted on Friday at 2:15

With each of our lines benefiting a specific charity, every clothing piece has a story behind it. This is one of the ways our Jedidiah apparel is so unique. Here, our head designer, Kelli Larson, gives insight into the Spring/Summer designs that benefit World Vision, with focus on the Voyage design.

“One of the locations we focused on for this collection was Thailand. Thailand is often referred to as a “water town”, and therefore most of the designs featured in this delivery were based around the idea of water and boats. This particular design, Voyage, is a collage of a handful of pictures and fabrics taken while visiting the country, masked into the simple shape of a ship.”
