In The Midst of Hope- A Benefit Art Show For Friends In Uganda

Light Gives Heat is hosting a benefit art show, “In the Midst of Hope,” curated by our long time friend Patrick Maxcy. The show will feature a diverse group of established and up and coming artists from around the world. It will include 40 paintings, drawings and photography, all based on the common theme of “hope, love, and the daily belief that tomorrow can be better then today.” The art will be on display from September 30th to October 21st, opening with a celebration on the 30th from 7-10, including food and drinks, music by DJ Griz and an acoustic performance by Tim Brown. LeAnn Rimes Raises Awareness For StandUp For Kids With Her New ‘Give’ Music Video

For LeAnn Rimes’ new ‘Give’ music video she partnered with our Fall/Holiday partner, StandUp For Kids. LeAnne personally worked with homeless kids in Chicago while making the video. “My life is forever changed from this experience,” shard LeAnn. “One thing they all said to me is no one looks them in the eye when they see them on the streets, so there’s a deep loneliness there and a feeling of almost not existing. I will now always look anyone who’s homeless in the eye and smile. That smile could make their whole day.” We appreciate her supporting StandUp For Kids and bringing awareness to homeless youth.

“‘Give’ is a song with a message about how if we want love, kindness and happiness in our lives, then we need to give some of that back,” LeAnn said. “I believe that message needs to be shared with the world.”

Sweetie’s StandUp For Kids Story

Sweetie was in her senior year of high school when her mother kicked her out of the house. At first she stayed with friends, then for the next several months moved between a boyfriend’s house, her car, and hotel lobbies. “I was living in a vicious cycle of not knowing what was going to happen next or where I was going to sleep.” Now Sweetie’s life is turning around. “While I still have a ways to go, I must say I am very thankful that I am in a better place and that I have StandUp For Kids.”
