…Our ambassadors, The Modern Gypsies are on the way to Ecuador for their Free The Children clean water project! Many of you bought their Jedidiah Modern Gypsy shirts to help raise funds for this trip and we join them in thanking you. John, Eric and Taylor are going to the community of Gulahuayco where a recent government road construction project damaged the town’s water system. The community petitioned the government to fix it but they were refused, leaving all house taps running dry and a community water tank that sits empty.
Their first ‘compassionate adventure’ will make it possible to bring water to the homes of more than 450 people, saving time for everyone, correcting the injustice that was the destruction of the old system and making use of existing resources for the benefit of the whole village. They will get to be involved in what is called ‘Quechua’ where everyone agrees to come together to work for the benefit of the whole community. They will be filming their first season of Compassionate Adventure: Ecuador! and we look forward to seeing the work they complete.
Jedidiah is once again sponsoring the annual Grombomb Surf Contest up in North County! The event is this Saturday and details are here:
