Music Monday, 8/1

Posted on Monday at 5:20

It’s the first day of August and here is some music to kick off the month right!

Valencia

After a long break from touring, Valenica is back with their latest album “Dancing With A Ghost.” They just released a new video for their track “Still Need You Around (Lost Without You)” today. If you are into bands like Motion City Soundtrack or Boys Like Girls, give this band a try and watch their latest video here.

Grouplove

LA-based Grouplove has been landing some major tours including an opening spot on the most recent Florence and The Machine tour. With their debut full length coming out later this year, Grouplove is definitely on the list of bands you need to know. They just released a new music video for their new song “Tongue Tied” – check it out here.

We Are The In Crowd

We Are The In Crowd is a female fronted pop punk band from New York. With only one EP under their belt, We Are The In Crowd has toured with bands like Taking Back Sunday, Thursday and All Time Low. They just finished recording a new album to be released later this year. Check Out the first single “Rumor Mill.”

Interview with Ace Enders

Posted on Monday at 5:57

Now that Ace Enders’ Pick What Your Pay Tour is wrapped up, we asked him a few questions about the tour. It definitely sounds like it was a success and we are proud to have been a part of it!

  • How did the pick what you pay aspect of the tour go for the tickets and merch?

Going into this tour we had no idea how it would work out, and after it was all said and done I don’t think it could’ve been better! Some people paid a dollar and some 20 so for the most part it evened out to a normal ticket price on our end, which is what we hoped would happen.

  • What was the highlight of the tour?

The highlight was definitely how supportive everyone who came out to a show was. It felt like we were just a group of friends just hanging out.

  • Was there a city that was especially memorable during the tour?

I think I have to say Philly.. It may have been the most fun I’ve ever had on stage. The vibe was like nothing I’ve ever seen.. And I’ve played a lot of shows.

  • How did people respond to joining you in supporting StandUp For Kids?

It was absolutely wonderful. It seemed like every night once people found out that we were supporting StandUp For Kids they wanted to know how they could as well.

  • Have you picked a winner for the raffle to win your guitar?

Yes we just chose the winner and our merch girl Aimee remembers selling him the raffle tickets because he really wanted to win so I think he’ll be pretty excited when we get in touch this week.

  • How do you travel on tour and how does that work for your family?

This tour we piled into our 15 passenger van. Loaded it with toys and snacks, and I have to say it was the most fun I’ve ever had on tour. We did family stuff by day and shows at night. I couldn’t have asked for more.

  • What role does your family take in your touring process?

My wife Jenn has been my partner in this scince the beginning. So she has alway played a huge part in our success. Our son Artie just makes everything better! And more fun.

  • In your words and insight, what does Jedidiah do?

Jedidiah is one of the coolest companies out there that I’m aware of.  They make awesome clothes that support amazing causes.  The company is run by the most real and generous people with such good intentions and it’s inspiring to see how successful they are in helping others and of course making my favorite things to wear.

  • Now that the tour is complete, what’s planned for the next year?

I’m gonna be doing a new album and maybe more touring in spring.

  • The Early November, what is the story there, reunion this fall?

We all just felt it was the right time to play a show. It really just came out of the blue.  Since the first one in Philly sold out so quickly we just added a show at Starland Ballroom on November 26th.

  • What is your favorite petting zoo animal and why?

This is a tough one.. I haven’t been out petting in a while. Haha. But I’m gonna go with a goat. I’m not really sure why. Definitely not a sheep because when we were on tour in Australia they chose me to shear one when we went to see koalas and kangaroos and that just wasn’t as much fun as it sounds.
