Gum for My Boat Movie Trailer

Posted on Thursday at 6:43

Gum for my boat is an alluring documentary that touches on the redemptive power of surfing. This short feature tells the story of how a group of underprivileged kids in Bangladesh are making a difference in their community, and how the surf club they started is the catalyst for this change.

Last October, Kahana Kalama and Russell Brownley took a trip with Surfing the Nations to Bangladesh to get to know the kids in the Bangladesh Surf Club. After nearly a year we are ecstatic to say that the film is finished. Watch the trailer now, and stay tuned for details on future screenings. You can also see the site here.

Gum For My Boat on Fuel TV’s Daily Habit

Bangladesh with Surfing the Nations. From that voyage Russell was able to capture hundred’s of hours of beautiful HD footage and the story of a group of kids who forever changed my life. Russell is right in the thick of getting this production ready for its first few viewings.

Anyway we finally got the Daily Habit episode up on Vimeo, so take a look when you have a chance. The sound quality is horrendous, but it is bearable…

Things We Love: Where the Wild Things Are

Everyone I know has just about been losing their mind of anticipation of Spike Jonze’s feature film rendition of Maurice Sendak’s classic story Where The Wild Things Are. Everytime I watch the trailer I feel like my stomach is going to explode. A few weeks ago I stumbled across this blog managed by several contributors one of which is Spike Jonze, that pretty archives the bits of inspiration they were exposed to while coming up with the overall aura of the film. If you’re not okay with losing another 15 minutes per week to the all consuming intershweb, I suggest you look the other way. However, if you welcome this type of self-satisfying wanderlust visit: http://weloveyouso.com/blog/
