I know for a fact that I take having a roof over my head for granted all the time. As I sit here right now at the Jedidiah office, it is raining outside and it makes me think that in reality, even having an everyday luxury like a shower is something I take for granted as well. I broke the handle to my shower at home yesterday morning and not showering for more than 24 hours was hard for me to deal with. But within 24 hours of it breaking, the landlord sent the plumber out and 10 minutes after his arrival, the problem that was ruining my day came to an end.
I love what Amor does in providing shelter for so many in need. In checking up today with Jeff Ahlberg, who works for Amor, he let me know that last week alone over 1,500 people from around the GLOBE (120 came from the United Kingdom) came to build 84 homes in one week, bringing their grand total of houses built since the beginning of March to 150 homes!
That kind of news was a great reminder for me to be thankful for everything I have, you know? Even the fact that I am typing this to you on a super rad computer is an indication of how much I have. It definitely made me feel lame even worrying about not having a shower.
Thanks Jeff for putting my day into perspective and for doing what you do. We are so stoked to continue helping Amor.
