The international news is inundated with reports of a 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti, with the epicenter located just 10 miles from the capital, Port-au-Prince.
The earthquake has produced many aftershocks, including two large ones over 5.0.
Initial reports estimate substantial and widespread damage to the country, and damaged communication lines and cell towers are making communication virtually impossible.
All levels of our staff are aware of the earthquake and are working to get the most accurate and up-to-date information. We will keep you informed.
Please be in prayer for our staff, Compassion-assisted children and families in Haiti. Pray that God protects them from harm. Also pray for the government and leadership in Haiti as they respond to this disaster.
If you would like to donate to help the victims affected by the earthquake you can do so through Compassion International.
