Yes.
By Megan Lueders, San Jose

Music is of intense importance in my life. It has become an outlet of inspiration and another world where I can go and find solace from the stresses of my life. I believe God has called me personally to use music to praise Him in my life and to serve others. I have been apart of music programs at churches and feel a sense of fulfillment and purpose within the body. God allows us to use many different things to praise Him and I am certain that music is one of those things, one of the more powerful and, personally, tangible and impactful facets of worship. As for music I listen to, it somewhat sets the tone for my day depending on what I listen to as I am getting ready in the mornings. I appreciate music artists and love learning about their story as their music is inherently a reflection of what they've been through. Music is such a transcendent thing, suprassing generations, backgrounds, creed, race and any other cultural boundary one can imagine. It is the only language understood by anyone anywhere. Live music is also very uniting in its nature. Concerts where large groups of people all have a common bond and purpose in seeing this band or artist that they all enjoy, is exhilirating and intense. I sometimes think about, if I were to explain music to someone, how I would go about that. And I come to realize that its almost unexplainable, so complex and intricate that just saying its a collection or blend of notes or pitches or rhythm wouldn't be nearly enough. God has used music to speak to me and through me and that is where I find its value. So, praise God for music!!
