We Shot The Moon

After Waking Ashland dispersed in 2007 (artistic differences) having played their last show ever to a crowd of 2000 in Tokyo, Jonathan Jones came home to delivering pizza’s in his home city of San Diego, California. Confused and somewhat down and out, Jonathan spent much of his newly found free time on his parent’s piano writing what would become the backbone to songs featured on this said album. After demo-ing some what were to be solo songs with Michael Rosas, he received a call from good friend Dan Koch of Sherwood. After hearing Jonathan express his disillusionment, Dan responded by demanding they get together to write songs. What come out of that time is the debut album from We Shot The Moon (the name is a reference from the card game Hearts, known by many a touring bands).
Picking up right where Waking Ashland had left off, We Shot The Moon delivers brilliant pop songs ala Weezer with a more guitar driven sound to compliment Jonathan’s classical piano training. Piano/guitar indie-pop has never sounded better.
