We hope everyone had a great weekend and congratulations again to all the graduates! Now it’s time for Music Monday.
While these aren’t bands we sponsor or endorse, we feel like they are all great artists making waves in the world of today’s music. We like letting you know about some of the best up and coming bands we have been enjoying.
Middle Class Rut
Formed in 2006, this Sacramento, CA two piece have been hard at work since the release of their newest effort “No Name No Color,” released this past November. You may have heard their song “New Low” spinning on your local rock station. Upon watching a live performance, Alternative Press Magazine said “…it’s mind-blowing to witness the sheer depth and complexity of the sound these two guys are capable of unleashing on their own…but once the novelty subsides, you’re left with incendiary post-rock with visible traces of ‘90s alternative.” Take a look at their newest video for their song “New Low.”

The Body Rampant
With an image that looks like something out of a horror film, The Body Rampant have been catching a lot of attention in their hometown of Los Angeles, CA. But don’t let their outfits fool you! This five piece rock band strikes in the vein of bands like Taking Back Sunday or Armor For Sleep. If you are looking for a fun and new band, I suggest checking out their latest music video for their song “Sativa.”

The Dangerous Summer
With a new album being released later this summer, The Dangerous Summer have been working hard in the studio as well as on the road with their catchy pop/indie rock sound. They recently finished a US headliner and UK run making it their last tour in support of 2009’s “Reach For The Sun.” You can check them out all summer long on this year’s Warped Tour.
Recommended Songs: Symmetry, Northern Lights

Young The Giant
Orange County Band, Young the Giant, have been creating quite a buzz with their debut album, released earlier this year. Young The Giant has been making a name for themselves, touring for the past year with bands like Minus The Bear, Neon Trees and more. They recently announced their appearance at this year’s Lollapalooza and were recently featured on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. We highly suggest checking out their song“Islands.”

Make Do and Mend
If you are in the mood for some soulful punk rock, Make Do and Mend is your band. With a brand new album, Make Do and Mend has been touring all over the world with upcoming appearances in Australia and Europe with Hot Water Music. Even if harder music isn’t your cup of tea, I highly suggest giving these guys a try. It is nice to see a hardworking band get some attention. Check out their song, “Unknowingly Strong.”
