Photographer Tierney Gearon produces work with a tone of playfulness, humor and depth that I’ve come to adore. Her subjects are anything but dramatic, they are often every day occurrences like grocery shopping or children playing but by combining two different subjects, settings, and compositions, Gearon creates an entirely new image with unintended meaning. Her work is familiar yet otherworldly.
“Structured around journeys with her children to and from the homes of distant and diverse relatives – predominantly across the United States – her images show lives comprised of both comfort and confusion.” (Excerpt from her site)
