Earlier today on our Facebook page, we ran a quick contest to hear stories from you. The status read:
We at Jedidiah thrive on stories. Stories of hope. Stories of good. Please comment on this post with your story of good from the past week. It can be something you did, something you saw and explain how it shaped your week. We want to hear from you.
And I could not go without sharing a few of the stories people shared. So here they are:
“A little girl I know is battling brain cancer. She’s just a kindergartner but she is a strong little girl and she’s doing well. In honor of her, her soccer team renamed themselves ‘Stacia’s Sisters’. Made me cry a little bit to know that good friends are everywhere.” -Delanie Smith
“My sister is in the hospital and she is on life support waiting a new heart. She is 23 years old. She is currently in the ICU and at the time was in a medicine induced sleep. A couple of the nurses decided to get together and give her a SPA day. They shaved her legs for her, rubbed all kinds of nice lotions on her, gave her a manicure and a pedicure as well. There hasnt been a lot of good news with my sis lately…..but this was a simple gesture made by good people that has gone a long way….My sis woke up yesterday and was smiling because of what they had done for her. We still need a heart.” -Kyle Walton (see video below)
“My sister is mentally disabled she has struggled with many things in life for more than 25 years (she is older than me) but 3 days ago I took her jogging with me…I decided to help her excersise a little..something I have never done. She was stretching her little legs and arms up in the air and she had a huge glow of accomplishment in her eyes and her smile was priceless…sure some people were looking @ us oddly…but I love her to death & was so proud of her…I’m continuing to do that any chance I get now.” -Daniel Mtz
Thanks guys. Keep the stories coming.
